Professor Toon is Durham, North Carolina's hip-hop sweetheart. He is originally a Baltimore, MD native but "DURM" is his home and refuge.

The driving force behind Toon's powerful writing and relentless live performance comes from the history of life lessons accumulated thus far. Professor Toon had a rough start early in life. He was the subject of child abuse while being a witness to his mother's abusive marriage and subsequent divorce. After moving to NC with her to start over, Toon channeled his experiences into his expressive music that has now become a powerful mainstay in the Durham music scene and beyond.

The past year and a half has seen Professor Toon share the Main Stage of Hopscotch Music Festival with national recording trio and legendary hip hop pioneers, De La Soul. During this time, Professor Toon has also capitalized on opportunities to open for notable national touring acts such as Juicy J, Meek Mill, Project Pat, Mike Stud, Lil Dicky, MGK and Run The Jewels. Additionally, Toon is a co-founder of the DURM Hip-Hop Summit and performed at 2016's MoogFest in Durham.
